A private trip is the same day in San Blas but with nothing shared: the 4x4 that picks you up is yours, the boat is yours and you choose the route. $950 per group of up to 6 people — not per person — with transport, boat, lunch and guide included. It is booked by talking to us, not through the website calendar.
The Guna comarca entrance fee is separate: $22 per foreign visitor and $7 per resident, in cash. That one is per person.
The islands and the sea are the same. What you are buying is control over the day.
| Shared tour | Private trip | |
|---|---|---|
| The vehicle | 4x4 with other travellers, several pickups | Your group only, one pickup |
| The boat | Shared with the day's group | Yours alone, with its captain |
| The islands | Fixed route for the tour you picked | You choose, and can change as you go |
| The timing | Set by the group | Your pace: longer wherever you want |
| The price | Per person | Per group, up to 6 people |
Split between six that is about $158 per person, close to what one seat on the shared VIP tour costs ($149). With two people the same price is split between two, so it works out far dearer: what you pay extra for is having the day to yourselves.
The most common reason by far. With nobody else on the clock you can head back early, stop when you need to, and not drag anyone along at the pace of a group of twenty.
You cannot book an empty island, but you can arrive early and choose the stop. Tell us what you are planning and we build the day around it.
The good light is first thing, and on a shared tour that hour belongs to the group. Here it is yours, and the boat stops where you say.
Birthdays, company trips, friends. This is where the private trip makes most sense: the more of you there are, the more ways the same price splits, up to the maximum of 6.
It is not in the website calendar, and that is on purpose: the price is per group and not per person, so we close it with you directly. Three steps.
$950 per group of up to 6 people, with the private 4x4, the private boat, lunch and the guide. It is not multiplied per traveller: six people pay the same as two. The comarca fee is separate, $22 per foreign visitor and $7 per resident, and that one is per person, in cash.
Yes, and that is the main difference. Tell us what you would like to see — the Natural Pool, the shipwreck off Isla Perro, a Guna community — and we build the route. The only limit is the sea: if it is rough that day the captain decides, same as on any other departure.
That works, with a second boat and a second vehicle. Message us with the real number and we will give you the total; it is not the price above doubled, but it is not the same either.
Pickup is around 5:00 AM, as on any San Blas trip: the port of Cartí only clears boats in the morning. What you do get to decide is what time you head back, within what the daylight allows.
Not yet. The calendar charges per person and this price is per group, so leaving it there would overcharge you. We would rather close it with you on WhatsApp and send the payment link with the correct total.
With more notice than a shared tour, because a whole boat and a whole vehicle have to be held for you. A week is usually enough; in high season and on long weekends, make it two.
