Panoramic Tour of the Limones Cays

The classic San Blas postcard: a scenic tour of the most famous cays, a shipwreck for snorkeling, and the Natural Pool.

$135 /person 🐷 Today you only pay a deposit—the rest is due on the day of the tour + regional tax (payable on site)
Description

The most requested tour in San Blas. You cruise the legendary Cayos Limones — the most photographed stretch of Guna Yala — stopping at Perro Chico, home of the famous sunken ship and perfect for snorkelling; Isla Diablo, with its blinding white sand; and Isla Pelícano, a postcard cay ringed by turquoise water.

This is a panoramic route rather than a sit-still one: the boat leaves the port around 8:30 and links the cays, with a long stop at the shipwreck to get in the water. The Limones sit relatively close to the coast, so there is little sailing between islands and more time ashore. At 15:30 comes the farewell swim in the Natural Pool.

Hotel pickup from 5:00 am and about two and a half hours of mountain road. Includes door-to-door 4x4 transport, boat with life jackets, a typical lunch and a local guide; the comarca fee is separate, paid the same day, in cash or by card to the driver.

Great if you want the classic image of San Blas — the one from the photos — and several different islands in one day.

Maybe not your tour if you are after untouched islands with nobody on them: the Limones are the busiest part of the comarca. The Holandés or Coco Bandero are your routes.

⚠️ About Today's Route: The route and islands listed are the planned itinerary: on the day of the tour, they may vary due to weather, sea conditions, tides, or regulations set by the Guna Yala region. The captain and the boat guide have the final say, always prioritizing your safety—if an island cannot be visited, it will be replaced by another equally beautiful one.

If you need to cancel

With 72 hours or more of notice you get 100 % of the deposit back, or you change the date at no cost. Inside those 72 hours the deposit is no longer refundable, because by then your seat in the 4x4 and the boat is held and nobody else can use it; even so, if you tell us, we try to reschedule. And if we are the ones who cancel, which only happens for real sea safety, you choose between another date at no cost or 100 % of what you paid.

Questions about this tour

How much does Panoramic Tour of the Limones Cays cost?

$135 per person, with the door-to-door 4x4, the boat, lunch and the guide included. The comarca entrance fee is paid separately, once: $22 for foreigners and $7 for residents, in cash.

Which islands does it visit?

3: Isla Perro Chico, Isla Diablo, Isla Pelícano. The order is set by the tide and the sea that day, not by a fixed schedule.

What time is pickup and when do I get back?

Pickup at your Panama City hotel is around 5:00 am, and you are back in the city late in the afternoon. The early start is set by the mountain crossing and the tide, not by preference.

How much of the day is spent in the boat?

Little. The Cayos Limones sit close to the coast and close to each other, so the clock goes on the islands rather than on transfers. It is the route with the least sailing in the catalogue.

Will I see untouched islands?

No, and it is worth knowing before booking: the Limones are the busiest part of the comarca. For places where almost nobody lands, look at the Cayos Holandeses or Coco Bandero.

What does not depend on this tour — your ID, the comarca fee, route changes forced by the sea — is answered in one place instead of on every tour page. See all the frequently asked questions →
