The most complete experience: 4 paradise islands, the Natural Pool, and an authentic visit to the Guna community.
Our flagship package, for travellers who want the whole thing in a single day. You visit four islands — Perro Chico with its famous shipwreck for snorkelling, Isla Diablo, Isla Pelícano and Isla Aguja — plus the classic swim in the Natural Pool. And the part that makes it different: a visit to the Guna community, where you meet the people who look after this archipelago, their molas and their history.
The day starts early. We pick you up at your hotel at 5:00 am and cross the mountains by 4x4 into the comarca, about two and a half hours of winding road to the port. From there the boat reaches the first island around 8:30. The community visit falls in mid-afternoon, when the sun has eased off and the island is going about its normal day, and the last swim in the Natural Pool is at 15:30 before the drive home.
Everything is included: door-to-door transport, boat with life jackets, a typical island lunch and a local guide. The comarca entrance fee is separate and paid on the day itself, in cash or by card to the driver. You book with a deposit and pay the rest on the day of the tour.
Great if this is your one shot at San Blas and you don't want to leave wondering what you missed, or if the Guna culture interests you as much as the beach.
Maybe not your tour if you want a quiet day on a single island: this is four stops plus a cultural visit, and it moves. We have slower routes for that.
Departure from Panama City by 4x4 to the Guna Yala region.
Perro Chico (shipwreck and snorkeling), Diablo, Pelícano, and Aguja, with lunch on the island.
Living Culture: Molas, History, and the Daily Life of the Guna People on Their Island.
One last swim at the sandbar, then back to the city as evening falls.
You leave before dawn and there is nowhere to buy anything all day. The full packing list, and what happens if you forget each thing →
With 72 hours or more of notice you get 100 % of the deposit back, or you change the date at no cost. Inside those 72 hours the deposit is no longer refundable, because by then your seat in the 4x4 and the boat is held and nobody else can use it; even so, if you tell us, we try to reschedule. And if we are the ones who cancel, which only happens for real sea safety, you choose between another date at no cost or 100 % of what you paid.
$149 per person, with the door-to-door 4x4, the boat, lunch and the guide included. The comarca entrance fee is paid separately, once: $22 for foreigners and $7 for residents, in cash.
4: Isla Perro Chico, Isla Diablo, Isla Pelícano, Isla Aguja. The order is set by the tide and the sea that day, not by a fixed schedule.
Pickup at your Panama City hotel is around 5:00 am, and you are back in the city late in the afternoon. The early start is set by the mountain crossing and the tide, not by preference.
Two more islands and the visit to the Guna community, which no other shared route includes. The timings and the transfer are identical: what you pay for is stops and a visit, not extra hours.
It has a pace, and we would rather say so: between four islands, the community and the Natural Pool there is no idle time. Anyone who prefers to settle in at fewer places fits better on the relaxed route.
What does not depend on this tour — your ID, the comarca fee, route changes forced by the sea — is answered in one place instead of on every tour page. See all the frequently asked questions →
