How to visit Isla Diablo in a day

There are 3 routes that stop at Isla Diablo, all leaving Panama City on the same day, between $135 and $149 per person. The island is the same in all of them: what changes is which others come with it and what you pay for that.

The 3 routes that reach Isla Diablo

Sorted cheapest first. All include the 4x4 from your hotel, the boat, lunch and the guide.

On top of any of these prices comes the comarca entrance fee: $22 per foreigner and $7 per resident, in cash and once only.

Which one suits you

There is no cheap option here, and it is worth knowing before you go looking for one: the three routes that stop at Isla Diablo start at $135, and one costs $149. The $114 Escape Day Trip, the lowest price on the site, does not come to Diablo.

All three, moreover, always bring it paired with Isla Perro Chico. No route comes to Diablo alone or combines it with anything else, so whoever books to see Diablo will see Perro Chico anyway. What changes is the third stop: the Panoramic Tour adds Pelicano, the Shipwreck Day Trip adds Aguja and the sunken ship, and the VIP Package adds both plus the Guna community.

Since the floor is $135 in all three cases, the comparison boils down to one question: shipwreck, or community. That is why the jump to VIP is only fourteen dollars.

Questions before booking

How much is a day trip to Isla Diablo?

Between $135 and $149 per person depending on the route, with the 4x4 from your hotel, the boat, lunch and the guide included. The comarca fee is separate: $22 foreigners and $7 residents, in cash.

How long do you spend on Isla Diablo?

The day splits roughly four hours of water time between the islands on the itinerary, so no stop lasts the whole day. The fewer islands the route has, the longer at each: which is why the cheapest is not always the one that gives you least.

How do I book?

With a deposit, and the rest is paid on the day of the tour. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before: you get 100 % of the deposit back or change the date at no cost.

Is there a cheap tour that reaches Isla Diablo?

No. The cheapest one stopping here costs $135. The $114 Escape Day Trip goes to Perro Chico and Pelicano without passing Diablo, so looking for Diablo below $135 in this catalogue leads nowhere.

Can I see Isla Diablo without going to Isla Perro Chico?

Not on the shared routes: all three that stop at Diablo also pass Perro Chico. They travel together on the same itinerary because they are a few minutes apart by boat, inside Cayos Limones.
